Hi there,
Thanks for your post. Congrats on the 720, which is at or above the average GMAT score at top-ranked schools. However, being part of a common applicant profile, software engineering from India, you generally would need a score at that level to be competitive with those who have similar profiles. I don't know that much about you, but generally you need to really showcase what makes YOU unique compared with all of the other applicants similar to you... what experiences/skills/traits do you have that you'll bring to the classroom??? Without some of those important points, it will be difficult to get into any top 15-20 US programs (as per US News rankings). So I encourage you to think through what you can bring to the table, and also what you are looking for in a school
As for scholarships, keep in mind that scholarships are not super common for b-schools, and those given are offered to top applicants by far. Most b-school students finance their degree with low-interest rate educational loans, paid back over 5-15 years with their post-MBA salary.
In b-school admissions, it is not all about the 'stats' so to speak... while yours are respectable. ;) But admissions committees look at the WHOLE picture of what you bring as an applicant, how you'll contribute, all aspects of who you are as evidenced by your application. So the essays for example really come into play, since that is where you show who YOU are.
Good luck on the process!
