Profile evaluation

Hi, I am Indian my brief profile is as follows:

Male, 32 years of age, Work-ex 10 years
Company: One of the big 4 firms
Position: At a senior level (more than 5 years in super-visory capacity)
GMAT - 740/5.0 (Q - 49, V - 41)
Undergraduate degree - Masters Degree in Commerce from one of state universities in India
Marks - 68% (Among the top 10 ranks in University)
Year of Graduation - 1999
Extra-curricular: Captain of college football team, Sponsoring education of slum children, Volunteer work for NGOs

HBS
Wharton
Kellogg
MIT Sloan
Stanford

Hi Ravi and thanks for your inquiry.

Your profile is quite strong - excellent scores, extensive work leadership experience managing others directly, and increasing responsibility within one company. Those are all attributes that the schools like to see. The potential downsides are your age - the average age for the schools you list is around 4-5 years younger than you are, so while of course an average means that there are people with as much experience as you, it is certainly more competitive.

There are a number of unknowns for me though. I'm not clear on your role at the big 4 firm aside from managing people. Are you in a client-facing role? An internal one? Does it give you international exposure? Your extracurriculars are also not detailed enough for me to assess - I assume the football was a long time ago, but how current are the other activities and how extensive?

Without knowing that information it's hard for me to offer any guidelines, but as you know, the schools you list are among the most competitive and they will want to see real differentiation in your application in order for you to be successful.
