Hello,

Thanks for your inquiry. It’s a bit hard to give you an evaluation of your profile without a sense for the schools you are considering. I don’t have a sense for how well you’re doing professionally, whether you’ve been ranked highly or received promotions. I also don’t know your undergraduate performance or what else you’re involved in outside of work. And it’s hard for me to tell you whether the GMAT score is a good one or whether you should retake it since it’s all relative to the schools and programs you’re applying to. If you could give me a bit more information, that will help me answer your questions.
One thing that you should consider is whether an executive or part time MBA program is better for you than a full time program. With nine years of work experience, you may be better suited for an executive education program. For those schools that offer both full and part-time programs, they may ask you whether you’ve considered their part-time program, so you should research those options before making a decision.

Sincerely,

Akiba Smith-Francis

Hello Akiba,
Sorry, I missed few lines when I copied this para from my notepad.
I am considering ISB, Said, Judge, HEC and Rotterdam colleges for 2012-13 batch.
I have been ranked highly in most of my performance evaluations and also received early promotion and higher responsibilities as compared to many of my colleagues.

Let me know if you need more information.
Thanks

Hello,

Thanks for providing a bit more information. Considering that you’ve done well professionally and academically as well as have community involvement, I think that you would be competitive for the schools you are considering. In terms of the GMAT, your score is within range for those schools, although, if you think that you can improve your score significantly (20+ points) fairly easily, then I suggest that you retake the test. However, if you believe that this is the best score you can get, then I would not suggest retaking it since you’re in range. Best of luck!

Sincerely,

Akiba Smith-Francis
