Pronoun´s problem

Hi Instructors,

I would like to ask you if the following sentence is correct:

Although Jane´s success was overstated by many historians, she was still considered to be the best writer in the past.

My doubt is that Jane here is an adjective, so she in the Independent clause should not be used to refer to Jane. alright?
