Quantitative Coursework

by laurenegorecki Wed Jun 18, 2014 6:48 pm

Hi,

Would you highly recommend additional quantitative coursework to supplement a lower GMAT quant score (41) and two C's in quant based college courses (financial math, calc)? If so, do these classes need to be from an accredited college? Do they need to give grades? I was considering taking a course, but my work schedule will only allow me to take a self-guided online course, most of which do not offer grades.

Please advise.

Hi there,

To truly reassure the admissions committee that you can handle the quantitative nature of b-school, you could take some additional coursework and ideally earn an 'A' in it. Generally that is the best way to strengthen this aspect of your candidacy. Taking some ungraded online coursework might be a very small plus over NOT doing so, but the most impact will be something graded.

Good luck!
