Question regarding 'redundancy' on GMAT

by 750plus Fri Jul 22, 2016 8:04 am

Dear Instructors,

Please if you can help me with the below sentences.

Sentence 1
Ron changed his house, from Block D on Street 11 to Block E on Street 17.
Sentence 2
Ron changed his house, shifting from Block D on Street 11 to Block E on Street 17.

My question -
Is sentence 2 redundant because of the presence of the words 'changing' and 'shifting'?

Source: I have created the sentence on my own (by taking a reference to a GMAT Prep question)

Thank You

i don't really know what you're trying to do here, but whatever meaning was being tested in the original problem has definitely been lost, and these sentences don't really make sense ("changed his house" isn't something that you can say when someone moves).

if the original problem was from the FREE gmat prep software, you should just post your question on a thread about the original problem (in the appropriate folder).
thanks.
