Time to walk down X floors = time to walk down each floor * number of floors = 30X seconds

Time to ride down X floors = time to ride down each floor * number of floors = 2X Seconds

To have the same unit of time, convert 7 minutes into seconds. &7minutes = 7 * 60 seconds = 420 seconds

30X = 2X + 420
X = 15.

Please confirm the answer.

Policy on OG questions

by esledge Sun Aug 17, 2008 7:36 pm

GMAC has requested that all companies and online forums not post questions from copyrighted materials that GMAC sells to the general public. As it would be extremely difficult (if not impossible!) to discuss questions without the full question text, we have decided to suspend discussion of OG questions entirely, effective immediately.

As such, please don't post any more OG questions in this or any thread on the ManhattanGMAT forum.

We are very sorry for the serious inconvenience this causes you in your study; we very much wish we could still help you with these questions. However, we must comply with GMAC's request.
