RC: inference questions

by MichaelZ337 Tue Apr 14, 2015 3:49 am

Hi Ron

After studying the Manhattan RC course, I learned that the inference questions in RC are like the "Must be true" questions in CR.

I wonder whether the correct answer to an inference question will be something only deduced from the passage? or the answer could be something mentioned in the passage?

I got this question from a RC question from OG 11. Due to copy right issues, I quote only part of the question as below. Sorry, I am not sure whether this is convenient for you to track this question.

The passage starts: "Most large corporations in the United States were once run by individual capitalists who owned enough stock to dominate the board of directors and dictate company policy......"

The question starts: "It can be inferred from the passage that which of the following is true of majority shareholders in a corporation?"

I think that the correct answer is more like something according to the passage, rather than something inferred from the passage, because the passage mentioned "they could not sell out for a quick profit "

Thanks!

OG11 is so old that i don't even have access to it anymore. maybe one of the other moderators still does; i don't know. i suppose i could ask.

if this item was eliminated in the transition from OG11 to OG12, then this issue may be exactly the reason why it was eliminated.
