RC Question...

by PFWinkler Tue May 03, 2016 3:50 pm

General RC question - if you look at OG16, RC #17 - #25...there are 8 questions associated with a fairly BORING topic. I thought we would typically see 3-4 questions for each RC question? Will there be possible times were 5 or 6 questions will be associated with a problem?

Thanks,

well, right, but that's a paper book.

the SOFTWARE will contain surplus questions for most of the passages... but you just won't see those questions, because the software won't show them to you.

the only way for the BOOK to contain surplus questions, on the other hand, is to print them all on the same pages in front of your face. so, that's exactly what happens.

if you were to get the "sea snake" passage on a real exam, you'd get a selection of (most likely) 4 problems from those 8. (it's problems 18-25, by the way, not 17-25.)

in particular, you'll notice some redundancy in the problems when there are that many of them.

e.g., for the sea-snake passage, problems #21 and #22 are basically asking about the same thing, so, clearly you wouldn't be given both of them. (one of them probably just tested "harder" than the other one when they were originally crowdsourced.)
likewise, problems #18 and #25 are pretty much asking about the same idea, too... so you'd see a max of just one of those two as well.
