RC question types

by doit Thu Jun 05, 2014 10:46 am

Hello Team,
I am able to identify the inference, main purpose,detail and function related questions. But there are some special types like

1. If the following are true which of the following will support the passage or author-- can I consider them as CR strengthen questions and solve them .
2. If the following are true which of the following will weaken the passage or author-- can I consider them as CR weaken questions and solve them.
3. which of the following examples is according to authors point of view--here list of examples are provided--- can I consider them as Inference question and solve them.

Thanks for your support.

For RC, I honestly haven't seen much utility in distinguishing anything beyond Main Idea vs. Detail questions.

If the question is about details, then, regardless of the particular task involved, the thought process is largely the same:
- Find keyword(s) in the question that tell you what to search for;
- Find the relevant information;
"- Pick the choice that MUST be true, using evidence that you can point at in the passage.

These questions don't work like CR strengthen/weaken questions, which almost always require real-world connections (i.e., connections that can't be made by formal logic or "rules") to link the answer choices to the issue.
