by sunilpanigrahi27 Mon Feb 03, 2014 9:55 am

Hi,

I'm planning 2 re-take my GMAT xam fr the 3rd time... Prev 2 attempts I didnt get gud score. It was in around 400 range. now I have 4 yrsd work-ex in investment banking company with a strong profile in finance domain. So will a 3rd attempt and with decent score around 650-700 fetch me admission in US univ ?? Please suggest asap.... Need your suggestions... Please help me out ...

Hi Sunil,

I would definitely recommend/agree with the idea of trying again, hopefully with a preparation program of some sort. Generally you're asking if a 650-700 and 4 years of suitable experience would help you get into a US school? Certainly that is possible yes! There are so many business schools in the US with a range of average scores and profiles etc. Keep in mind that business school admissions is holistic in nature and based on your overall profile, not JUST your score or even just score and work experience, but a strong score helps a lot. I have not seen a limit; schools take the highest score...technically they will see your previous scores on your score report but the policy at every school we've come across is to use your highest for consideration. Certainly taking it twice or even 3 times is fairly common, and we've seen a good number take it more than that if really needed. Hopefully not ! ;)
