Relevance of IR for Current Senior

by MichalM28 Sat Jan 17, 2015 6:56 pm

I am a current undergrad senior, and I have been studying for the GMAT in case I want to attend an MBA program in about 4 years. Based on what I have read, I have learned that for current applicants the IR section is not all that important, and a score of 5 is sufficient for a top 10 program.

However, since I will be applying in 4 years, should I spend more time on the IR section, since it may be more important in the admissions process at that point?

On the flip side, will the IR section remain relatively irrelevant or the admissions committee not weigh the IR score as much since I took it 4 years before my application?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi there,

I would just do a bit of preparing and do your best... but obviously focusing most of your effort on the main Q/V sections. You don't want to NOT try your best and that's all you can do. Right now it's still not a major admissions factor; sure that could change but hard to predict at this point... aiming for a 4/5 at minimum sounds good and again you can only do what you can do!! Good luck!
