SC 1000 #396

Hi,

I coudn't understand why the answer of this choice is E not D. D seems to correct because it makes sentence parallel.

i hope i am right.

because D is in passive voice. and passive voice is rarely correct in gmat.

AC, that is correct. D is passive and also awkward, as it seems to imply that the steers are actively and consciously working to acquire these characteristics.

E is good and also parellel, u can c from this-:
partly (because crossbreeeding is said ) to acquire certain characteristics in their steers and partly because crossbreeding is said to provide hybird vigor.

some words just omitted in the previous part of the sentence. It's a little bit tricky, but it's precise and right. I hope this can help.

1000SC is a banned source because it illegally uses copyrighted problems without permission. (And, even if it didn't, we'd ban it anyway - a lot of the problems in the set are fine, but there are a number of bad ones that can actually mess up your study if you use them!)
