It is told in SC guide 3rd edition that 'There' pronoun often refers to an antecdent place which is in the of preposition phase.

HOwever in exercise Q 9 (page 92) it is told that noun burried in a prepositional phase is unattractive antecedent.
So, the following two statements are equally correct or statement 1 is preferred over statement to?
Statement 1: At current prices, antarctic oil may be worth drilling for, if wells can be dug in Antartica and environmental concern addressed.
Statement 2: At current prices, oil in antarctic may be worth drilling for, if wells can be dug there and environmental concern addressed.
