SC from OG again

[OG question deleted by moderator]

- I didnt understand why C is wrong. D takes a new meaning military action rather than militarily. How can somebody know whether we were supposed to change the form altogether or not.

A and B met to consider X and Y.
Here X and Y should be parallel.

X - Russian attempt, which is a noun .
So, Y is also expected to be a noun.

Only D has Y - military action (noun)

Instructors,
Please correct me if I am wrong

Per forum rules, we can not post any questions from paid resources, including the OG. If the question is also found on a free resource (i.e. GMAT Prep), you can repost to the proper forum. If you have a specific question related to some idiom, you can repost the part of the problem that is relevant to your question.
