SC- Parallelism doubt

by kinuverma91 Tue Jul 31, 2012 9:04 am

Independent contractors pay higher taxes, are paid less consistently than statutory employees, and, unlike statutory employees, they may freely perform the same type of work for multiple businesses.

>taxes, are paid less consistently than statutory employees, and, unlike statutory employees, they may freely
>taxes and are paid less consistently than statutory employees; unlike statutory employees, though, independent contractors are free to
>taxes and paid less consistently than are statutory employees, but they, unlike statutory employees, are freely allowed to
>taxes and are paid less consistently than are statutory employees; in addition, unlike statutory employees, independent contractors can freely
>taxes and paid less consistently than are statutory employees; moreover, unlike statutory employees, they are allowed to

The option B is correct. My doubt isnt there an 'are ' after statutory employees. The contractors are paid less than the statutory employess are. ( This should be there to maintain parallelism

Another sentence which exhibits parallelism and can be used for reference is this :-

Banks in Inverness experience more robbery attempts than do those in La Rinconada

Valid Question, i really wonder why no one answers to even valid queries raised by some people...

Though the problem here is of comparison.

Independent contractors pay higher taxes, are paid less consistently than statutory employees, and, unlike statutory employees, they may freely perform the same type of work for multiple businesses.

I think it should be are paid less consistently than are statutory employees...

Can anyone guide...
