Hi there,

I would view the conferences as a plus in terms of both how it looks to attend, and also in that you may meet staff from the program and make connections or potentially an impression/be remembered (it can happen); but not a negative if you CANNOT attend, i.e. they won't hold it against you. So, while it's definitely unfortunate that they are on the same date, I would say go ahead and and attend the one for the school that is your top choice. Hard to say about it being an actual driver for consortium selection, but it can't hurt! Good luck!
