sentence correction question from fourth edition, guide 8

by justinmoon Sat Mar 17, 2012 4:18 pm

Hey guys,

I had a question in regards to a problem in the said book in the title. The question asks you to correct the following sentence;

"Although the ballerina seems healthily, she feels very unwell and is unlikely to dance well at tonight's performance."

The solution is:

"Although the ballerina seems healthy, she feels very unwell and is unlikely to dance well at tonight's performance".

My question is in regards to the bolded part. How is this parallel since there is an "and" and "is"? I am not catching how it is parallel. Shouldn't it be "feels unlikely"?

"feels" and "is" are both conjugated verbs. that is enough to make them parallel..
