It's impossible to answer this question without context.

More importantly, this is a GMAT forum. Every question here should be directly related to something you've encountered in a GMAT-related source.

Please provide the following:
• The complete problem that inspired this question, with all answer choices
• A citation of the original source of that problem
• Specifics about your current thought process (what do you understand? what don't you understand? etc.)

Thanks.

we can't reproduce or discuss OG problems here, per GMAC's express request.

please familiarize yourself with the forum rules (top of this folder) before posting, thanks.

most importantly, we can't host or discuss problems from any PAID GMAC materials here.
...so, nothing from the OG series, nothing from the paid GMATPrep "packs", and nothing from the old GMAT paper tests (which are badly out of date anyway, as far as SC is concerned).

thanks.
