Simplifying fractions

by t.zarah Wed Oct 28, 2015 2:39 am

Hello,

I came across a fraction that I couldn't simplify. It is 231/660.

I know that it is 7/20. But how can I reach this point?

Thanks a lot.

hey, 231/660 = 77/220 (dividing the numerator and denominator by 3)

(77 * 3 ) / (220 * 3)

77/220 = (7 * 11 )/ (11 * 2 * 10)
= 7 /20

Hope that is clear!!
