Square/Rhombus

by gauravjain_12 Fri Dec 09, 2016 7:22 am

Is quadrilateral ABCD a rhombus?
(1) Line segments AC and BD are perpendicular bisectors of each other.
(2) AB = BC = CD = AD

My answer is E. From both 1 and 2, the quadrilateral can be a square or a rhombus, therefore, both are not sufficient. However, the correct answer is D. Can you explain how?

a square is a rhombus.

(...just as a square is also a rectangle, and also a parallelogram, etc.)
