Dear instructors:
Is there someting wrong with the "resulting in the fact that"?is it redundant or something like that? And is "oil prices are vulnerable to any hints of oil supplies being disrupted "in choice D right?I remember Ron has taught the usage of "prep+noun+being",I just want to make sure whether it is right or not here. Thanks in advance. :D

since comma + "leaving" is perfectly correct, this is a straightforward RELATIVE judgment. the version with "resulting" is objectively much worse, so don't pick it.

Apologies for bumping an old thread.

In choice E:resulting in the fact of domestic oil prices that are vulnerable to any hints of oil supply disruptions in the Middle East or to any unexpected growth in consumer demand that might be

I was wondering is " in the fact of + noun +that" wrong? because we know that this fact should be represented by a sentence.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, actually the idiom 'the fact of' is wrong here. If we want to state a fact, we'd say 'the fact that'. For example 'The fact that people sometimes behave against their own best interests is one that economists have long struggled to explain.'
