* Studies of fitness tests show that playing basketball has a markedly positive effect on children whose parents are not athletic, as compared to those who are athletic.

a) to those who are
b) with children who are
c) with
d) to those whose parents are
e) with children whose parents are

Hello.

I understand that compared to / compared with is no reason to choose D over E. However, "on children whose parents are not athletic" is acting as which phrase in this sentence?

hi --
this post does not follow the forum rules. please correct the following within the next week or so:

* please provide a citation of the original source.
we need this, to make sure that (a) the problem is not from one of our banned sources and (b) we aren't violating any copyrights.

also, please read the forum rules (top of every folder).

if no source is cited within a week, we'll have to delete the thread. thanks.

also, when you do provide the source, please clarify your question; i can't tell what you're trying to ask here. (your question says "xxxx is acting as which phrase?" -- i don't know what that means.)
