Subject-Verb agreement/Redundancy

by shravani407 Thu Mar 19, 2015 3:23 pm

What would be the error in the following sentences:

1. Numerous vegetarians believe that there are undoubtedly, a wealth of good reasons to stop eating meat.
(Does the 'are' needs to be changed to 'is'? Since "a wealth of reasons" is similar to "a number of reasons", I think the 'are' remains as it is.

2. There is a difference in the way the term turnover and the term revenue is used in business across the Atlantic; in the United States, turnover refers to how rapidly the inventory acquisition and transaction occurs whereas in Europe turnover refers to a company's income, known in the States as revenue.

A. use of the term turnover and the term revenue in business across the Atlantic; in the United States, turnover refers to how rapidly the inventory acquisition and transaction occurs whereas

B. usage of the term turnover and the term revenue in business across the Atlantic; the rapidness of the inventory acquisition and transaction is called turnover in the United States whereas

Which one is correct?

in that sentence, "a wealth of..." is used in the same way as "many" or "several" or "100". so, plural.
