Re: Second Interview?

Hi Will,

Congrats on getting that first interview under your belt. Do you mind my asking what school it is that asked you back for a 2nd interview? Did they say anything else re: the interview request?

Generally at this point you should look at it as a positive-- because it means you are still in the running! And you still have the chance to persuade the admissions committee that you are right for their program, and that their program is right for you.

Check out some of our interview tips here for reminders (http://www.mbamission.com/resources-man ... erview.php), and in advance of the 2nd interview, review your application and essays, and any notes you made after the 1st interview, being sure you are prepared to talk through your goals and past experiences, and to answer any questions that might come up based on potential weaknesses in your application. If you haven't done so yet, a mock interview can help a lot, whether it be with an admissions consultant, or a friend/colleague who can talk through potential questions with you.

Good luck and let us know how everything goes!

Gotcha. Just thought I'd ask in case any of our consultants had any experience with that scenario with specific programs; certain programs are more or less likely to reach out more during the application process (for additional info, follow up interviews, feedback, etc).

At this point I advise that you think of this as a great opportunity-- it means they want to know more about you. Potentially ask a few follow up questions, OR perhaps have another member of the admissions committee speak with you. If they did not want to accept you and give you the benefit of the doubt they would not have invited you back, so take this as an indication that they like you as an applicant and hope to invite you to join their class.

As I mentioned, you may just want to brainstorm about anything they may still have questions about after the first interview or based on your applications.

Wishing you good luck and hope to hear how it goes!!

(Side note-- my MBA is actually from Cambridge in the UK and have consulted with clients from around the globe applying to various schools both in the US and internationally, including programs in the UK, France, Spain, Italy, Israel, Canada, Australia, India and more. ;) We at mbaMission are definitely happy to help with any questions you have about any programs, US or elsewhere!)
