Hi can some one please tell me what is difference between Prnouns THAT vs IT, when THAT is used and when IT is used

there's no way we can answer a question that's this sweeping in its generality; a full treatment of this issue would run into the tens, if not hundreds, of pages.
is there a particular gmatprep problem or sentence that prompted this question? if so, then post the problem providing the appropriate context. remember, this is the gmatprep folder; if this discussion isn't prompted by a gmatprep problem, you should post it in the general verbal folder.
