usage of 'where' and 'when'

by nonameee Sun Oct 16, 2011 6:16 am

In Aristotle SC Grail it is said that 'when' can refer only to a specific time period, and 'where' can refer only to a specific location. Therefore, the following sentences are incorrect:

x When the price goes up, the demand goes down.
x To company where I work has gone bankrupt.

To me these sentences sound perfectly OK.

Could you please clarify this issue?

Thanks a lot.

Thanks.

No. There is nothing wrong with either of these examples in the context of the rules you have provided..
