Use of brackets '()' in SC

Hi,
Heard that recenty GMAT is testing the use of brackets. Couldnt find any useful source on this subject. May the instructors throw some light on this subject.

Interesting question. Where did you hear this? If you saw this mentioned on a forum or website can you link us? I haven't heard this rumor and can't imagine the GMAT would start testing this topic so I'm interested to see what you saw.

They’re called parentheses, but no I don’t have any information. I took the GMAT two weeks ago and saw nothing of the sort. Although that doesn’t mean they aren’t testing parentheses, it’s probably wise to avoid paying attention to rumors unless they come from a credible source. One thing of potential interest though is that I saw 17 SC problems on my GMAT..

One of my close friend took GMAT about two months ago. He confirmed that he encountered this one in SC.

i wouldn't be surprised to see parentheses on the test, but i'm not convinced that's an issue they are actually testing on. My advice is that if you see parentheses on the test, don't worry about them and concentrate on the grammar issues that present themselves..
