v31? how can i improve

by ezeven0 Mon Mar 01, 2010 9:09 pm

So just got back from the testing center and although i improved my math score, my verbal score went from a 31 3 months ago to a ... 31.

Whats frustrating is that not only have i been scoring in the 38-42 range (mgmat test, gmatprep) but i finnish the verbal section 3 mins ahead of time.

my achilles heel is def SC, usually get 4-5 wrong in practice exams?

Any advice on how to improve is greatly appreciated.

hi -- this is the sort of thing that you should post in the General folder, not in this folder.

please create a new post in that folder. when you do, please try to include more specific information about your strengths, weaknesses, and study plan thus far.

also -- given that you're scoring a 31 in verbal (a score that is close to the middle of the score distribution), it's likely that you are getting between 12 and 18 of the 41 verbal questions wrong on each test. if that's the case, then you should actually expect to miss 5 to 6 questions of each type in the verbal section. therefore, something on which you are consistently missing only 4-5 questions may, ironically, be not a weakness but a strength.
