Verbal General advice 5 days to go.

by rakeshd347 Wed Sep 11, 2013 7:54 am

Hi Experts,

Can someone please advice me on the verbal strategy. Even though, i have been scoring V40 in my last 4 mocks and I am confident that I will get at least V38-40 in real test this time, I am bit confused about these 1000 series SC and CR questions. These SC questions just look too awkward sometime that it becomes hard to believe that the correct answer is this. Now As I have 5 days to go what I am thinking is to go though all the 5 verbal wrong question from MGMAT mocks and see if I still get them wrong and learn from them along with gmatprep question pack 1, which I have have already done.

So will it be good to do MGMAT and gmatprep SC and CR again or do you guys suggest doing more new questions from sources such as 1000 series. It just that I don't get confidence when I do those question because I am always doubtful of answer and credibility as I don't know the source.

Please suggest.

Thanks,
Rakesh

Hi Rakesh:

I had the same issue, when I answered first 50 Qs. I downloaded a PDF file from BeatGMAT (GMATPREP COMPREHENSIVE SC). This file has plenty of questions. You can spend some time on these questions.

If you could not find that file, please let me know, I can email.

Hi PR,

Thank you for that. That's really kind of you but I have gone through them too. They are gmatprep questions. I have gone through all the OG and all the official question, including og12 13, VR2, QR2, Gmatprep question pack1, ETS paper tests and quant focus from gmatprep. So all the official questions have been exhausted twice already. I think I am ready as I have been scoring between 710-700 in the last 4 mock tests with V38-40, but I am always keen to do more and more and more.
However, last night I discovered this. I will read all the answers from RON, Stacey and other experts in the forum. Suppose I am weak in mixture problems and in CR inference. So I will search all the posts and see their explanation. There are always words of wisdom in their reply and I can still learn a lot from them. That is the plan for the next 5 days :)

Thanks for the quick reply.

Regards,
Rakesh

Hi,
This folder is for questions about specific verbal problems; it's not for questions about test-preparation strategy.
Questions about general preparation should be posted in the "General GMAT Strategy Questions" folder.

Thanks.
