What will the REVERSAL of this line ?

by dheeraj787 Fri Apr 11, 2014 1:05 pm

Dear Ron,
Please tell what will be the REVERSAL for of this line:

The original version of some well-known songs are unavailable for use in commercials

Options are :
1. The original version of all well-known songs are unavailable for use in commercials ?
2. The original version of some well-known songs are available for use in commercials ?
3. The original version of all well-known songs are available for use in commercials ?
4. The original version of none of the well-known songs are unavailable for use in commercials ?

When you select any one option from above, also explain why ? and also explain for other options, why not ?

Best Regards & Thanks in advance.

Just think about a simpler version of the same thing.

"Some of my friends are married."

There's only one way for this to be false: I don't have any married friends. Or, equivalently, all of my friends are unmarried.
(When "some" appears in a question, you should interpret it as referring to any nonzero quantity. Quibbling over the exact mathematical interpretation of such words is not what you're supposed to be doing here.)

If you apply the same idea here, you'll arrive at either #3 or #4. (#4 is not a very natural phrasing, but it's equivalent to #3.)
