Why an MBA essay question

When answering the why an MBA question how specific should one get especially if one doesn't have a specific plan that want to undertake. For instance, I am looking to go and change careers and have several options that interest me but not sure which would be the best to write about. If I talked about my love of sports and my experiences international and wanting to move into international sports related consulting would that be a decent reason? Thanks in advance.

Your goal statement need not be an overt commitment to that area post-MBA. In some ways, it is a best guess, based on your interests now. In short, schools recognize that you can and indeed will change your goals, but they want to know that you have passions and that you are at least purposeful as you enter your MBA studies.

I do think that international sports consulting is specifc, but can you connect yourself to sports in an inordinate way? You need to make sure that you are not expressing a naive fantasy, but an ambitious reality.
