Word Translations, Ch. 6, p. 113 #6

Hi,
I'm quite confused as to the explanation of this problem in the study guide. To get the 160th term, they do 6+ (159x3)=483. Why do they multiply 3 by 159? Where is the 159 from? Please help.

Please cite the edition this problem comes from.

For an evenly spaced set, the nth term can be given by x = a + (n-1)d, where a is the first term of the set, and d is the spacing between terms.

To show this is true,
Term 1 = 6
Term 2 = 6 + 3
Term 3 = 6 + 2(3)
Term 4 = 6 + 3(3)
Term 5 = 6 + 4(3)
Term n = 6 + (n-1)(3)
Term 160 = 6 + (160-1)(3)

Hope that helps!
