PT12, Sec II, G2

I have the basic set up for this game but I think I am missing inferences. Can someone show me the answer to question 8?

There aren't any super-useful inferences to make at the start of this game. One way to reassure yourself that you haven't missed anything is to take a quick look at the questions. If all or most of them begin with "If," then you probably haven't missed anything.

For #8, just start with what's given and work through the chain of logic.

I find it helpful to use lower case letters for children and upper case for adults.

If f and S are in 3, you know by the second constraint that j must also be in 3. Now, 3 is full, and you know from the constraints that h and T cannot be in 2. Thus, h and T must be in 1. Next, you know that R cannot go with h, so R must be in 2. And finally, T cannot go with g, so g must also be in 2.

We know nothing of Q and k -- one will be in 1, the other in 2.

(A) must be the correct answer, then.

Here is an inference that helps me a lot:

The combination of each group should be:
1 child + 2 adults
2 children + 1 adult
2 children + 1 adult
