LAST tip on RC before EXAM

by extraordinary.kye Tue Nov 22, 2011 11:59 am

Hello, everybody,

Less thand 14 days, December 2011 LSAT exam is coming....
I was wondering, within 14 days, is there any tips to improve Reading Comprehension?
For me, I have been having difficulties in inference questions in reading comprehension and sometimes while reading the passage, I have been lost...

I know PRACTICE is probably best way to improve, other than that, is there any other tips / recommendations for Reading Comprehension??

Thanks in advance, i really appreciate it :D

And for the people taking December 2011, GOOD LUCK you all deserve 180!!!! (me counting  )

14 days before my first official LSAT - back when i thought I was going to law school - I was only finishing 3 passages and really struggled both on time and accuracy, and then I got a piece of advice that put everything into place. I can't know for sure that it will have the same benefits for you, but I suspect so.

Focus not just on what they're saying but how they're saying it. Focus on the purpose of each portion of the passage and when you do, the main point, the author's perspective, and reason why the author mentions various things comes into perspective. It won't help you make inferences so much, but it will make the passage much easier and help you move faster, giving you the time to go back and really search on those inference questions.

Also, try an immersion experience. Take the next 3-4 days and focus on RC for 5-6 hours a day. You'll find that repetition and time on task really help with your pacing.

Good luck!

Thank you!!!

Like what you said, I have been trying to spend 3-4hr for RC section, and i can tell you that, i see improvement of the speed and little bit on accuracy, but I think I still need more practice...

Thanks for the tip once again !!
