Passage Discussion

by erikwoodward10 Sun Aug 14, 2016 10:15 pm

Main idea: BW has outlined an approach exists as a viable alternative to sprawling corporate farms while providing top-quality agricultural goods to consumers in urban areas.

Passage map:

Paragraph 1: Prevailing trend in agriculture, and an alternative approach that was outlined by Booker T Whatley

Paragraph 2: Outlines 3 of BW’s guidelines

Paragraph 3: Describes an approach and its benefits: “pick your own farming”—reduces labor costs, and eliminates distribution costs. Provides numbers for hypothetical guideline.

Paragraph 4: success of plan depends on a few factors: location, soil and water for irrigation, and liability insurance.

Scale: Traditional view vs. BW’s approach. Leaning towards BW’s approach. The author never states his opinion.

I'm confused with CMC's plan...who is client? Do they grow crops by THEMSELVES??
Are they farmers?
