Passage Map:

P1 : Introduction to Wynton Marsalis -- once the top jazz person but now uncertain future ahead.

P2: Maraslis' decline; losing contracts across the board. Record companies are also cutting back in general

P3: Marsalis is partly responsible because of his jazz revisionism

P4: Author's stance "Indeed..." affirms P3 but adds caveat it was not all Marsalis fault. He was not that extreme in only appealing to tradition.

P5 End result of less support from record companies and hints at profit motive.

Scale is "Marsalis was responsible vs not fully responsible for the decline in jazz" . Author is on the latter side.
