Scale
SIDE A (old): people investigating women's crafts couldn't figure out much from traditional sources such as archaeological remains and surviving texts.
SIDE B (new): advances in technology now allow people investigating women's crafts to learn a great deal from traditional sources, and they've also innovated new methods.

Author's View / Purpose
To present the success of the new technology / methods.

Paragraph 1
Background of OLD problem, with MVS (most valuable sentence) pivot on 14-18.

Paragraph 2
Partial Solution to Problem: new tech allows for better analysis / new philosophy in archaeology allows for saving more helpful scraps

Paragraph 3
Another Partial Solution to Problem: new method for investigating is to try to recreate old things using old technology

Takeaway/Pattern: This could be organized under Old vs. New, or under Problem / Solution. The big ideas are the Old Problem, the New Solutions, and the implications of what we've learned.
