Q 2109 - Mexican dish, thai dish, chinese dish

by yoohoo081 Fri Sep 30, 2011 2:08 pm

At least one Mexican dish, one Thai dish, and one Chinese dish will be included on a menu of exactly four dishes, and no other types of dishes will be included.

A) The menu will not include three Mexican dishes.

B)The menu will include two or three Thai dishes.

I'm confused, but is this the right way of thinking?

Thought process:
- - - - (4 dishes)
MTC? (since at least 1 of each)

so... (?= M or T or C)
MTCT
MTCC
MTCM

So, B cannot be possible because T can be at max 2, not thee
A, it's a really big wiggle room (doesn't take out ALL the possibilities), but it states the truth that M cannot have 3.

Right!

I'd think of it a bit differently myself. It seems to me more about testing each answer choice to see if I can "break" it.

(A) can I have 3 Mexican dishes? No - that means I'd have 5 dishes, not 4.

(B) can I have something other than 2 or 3 Thai dishes? Yes, I can have 1!
