Q10

by nazu.s.shaikh Sat Aug 14, 2010 7:32 pm

For Q10.. it doesn't make sense to me because car X has all three features. If the other 5 cars were to have different features than each other ..wouldn't they still be similar to car X in a way.. sharing a feature?

Unless we must suspend the believe that car X has any features?

You'd be right if the question stated "Suppose that no two cars share ANY features with another..."

But instead it says "exactly the same options as one another..."
meaning that no two cars can have the same combination of options, but they can have an overlap.

Make sense?

Why is A and E wrong? This is what I had:

T: P
V: P S
W: P L
X: S L P
Y: S
Z: L S

So I don't understand why A and E can't be false. A says 3 have Power windows and my diagram has 4 so its false. E says 4 of the cars have leather interior and my diagram has 3 so E is also wrong. C says 3 have sunroofs and my diagram has 4 sunroofs. I'm so confused. Please help.

You're close! The only thing you missed is that T could have P OR L in it. There's no reason there couldn't be an L there instead of a P, which would make both (A) and (E) possible, too.

Does that make sense?
