Q2

by Jae HeeK459 Thu Apr 23, 2020 3:03 pm

I understand why C is the correct answer, but I was not able to answer this question on time. The only way I could think of getting to the answer is by working backwards (trial and error), which is really time-consuming. Was I supposed to infer that QTS is one big block during the "Big Pause?"

I had the same problem as above ^.... does anyone have a good way to work around trial and error for this one?

I think you have a couple of options here (and I'll note that QTS is not necessarily one big block). One option is to skip this question, work through the rest of the game to get previous work, then come back to it. That's a useful strategy for a tricky question in any game, and the work from the next question could help.

The other option is to frame this game. If S is the third person trained, that means S has to be in 3 or 4 (and if 4 then the other open spot is 1-3). And QT is a pretty limited chunk to place around it. So here are the four framing options:

Frame 1:
U R S Q T / /

Frame 2:
Q T S U R / /

Frame 3:
Q T / S U / R

Frame 4:
/ Q T S U / R

If T is not in spot 2 , that means it's either Frame 1 or Frame 4. In Frame 4, S could be in spot 4, and that's answer choice C.

Hope this helps!
