can someone help me out with this one? What's the best way to work through it?

Here we're asked where L can go. It's likely you didn't consider this before the question, though hopefully you already had a pretty good sense of the restrictions on L.

Since the answers start at 3rd and work up, no need to consider slots 1 & 2. We know that L is part of this: L - F - [GK]. So, we know that L can't come after 4th. If it came 5th or later, there's be no room for F - [GK]. So, we're down to (A) and (B).

One option is to test out one of those. However, another option is to look back and see if we came up with a hypothetical in which L was third or fourth.

A final option, and probably the most thoughtful, though not necessarily the fastest, is to consider how the other rules interact with L's placement in slots 3 or 4. Since we have the H/M _ _ + H/M chunk to consider, it's a problem if we place L 4th since that ends up filling up 4-7, and we have no place to put the expansive chunk. That leaves us with (A).
