Q3 - Nylon industry spokesperson: Even

by vincentsallan Fri Oct 14, 2011 10:09 pm

Could someone explain why (C) is the correct answer instead of (E)? I guess the only thing I can come up with against (E) si that if you took a couple of natural substances and put them together to create something synthetic but I'm not sure if that totally explains away (E) and I'm still not sure I understand (C).

Thanks.

Hey, there.

(E) is the correct answer, not (C).

Let me know if that resolves your confusion.

(The pdf version I got from Manhattan shows the correct answer, but I also have a different pdf version of this test in which C is listed as the correct answer for section 4, #3, but that answer key is messed up. The column of answers for section 4 really applies to section 3, the Games section. So if you're looking at that pdf, you need to just switch columns 3 and 4)

I got this correct, but could someone give an explanation why (C) is wrong? (or writing in different words would helps too...I was a little not sure what it's saying and defered it)

Thanks!

We want to help justify the reasoning that nylon is natural.

Answer choice C is saying that a substance is no more natural than X.

Not a good answer at all.

Imagine this scenario:

We want to help justify that I am rich.

We know for a fact that Mitt Romney is rich.

Would the idea of knowing that I am no richer than Mitt Romney help support the idea that I am rich? Nope.
