Q4

by csunnerberg13 Sun Sep 01, 2013 12:35 pm

Just wondering if there's a good strategy for attacking this question - I found myself going to previous work/trial and error first...

Thanks!

Hey Csun,

Well, this question doesn't give you any new rules, so you really don't have any choice in terms of what to do. You have to go through the answers one by one. However, it should be fairly easy.

(A) There's no reason we couldn't have all Oatmeal and Wheat.
(B) There's no reason we couldn't have all Oatmeal and Rye.
(C) There's no reason we couldn't have all unsliced.
(D) Uh-oh. If we had five sliced oatmeal loaves, that would be all the loaves, and they'd all be oatmeal, which breaks the first constraint. This must be true.
(E) If we had five sliced wheat loaves, no rules would be broken.

So fairly friendly, even for a question without any new rules built-in.

Hope that helps!
