This question asks to provide a principle (general rule) that completes the argument. Notice the word "since" right before the _________ . This means that we want to choose a principle that supports the argument's conclusion--Principle Support.

We're being asked to support the argument that because people cannot consciously restrict their purchases to environmentally benign products, that there can be no moral duty to avoid environmentally harmful products.

Answer choice (B) is actually correct and basically draws the connection between not being able to restrict purchases to environmentally benign products and not have a moral duty to do so. Notice though, that is speaks more generally than just purchasing environmentally damaging products. Instead in provides a rule that could be applied in the given discussion, but could also be applied other situations as well.

Incorrect Answers
(A) describes something that is not part of constituting a moral obligation, but fails to ensure that there is no moral duty in the given situation.
(C) addresses the irrelevant issue of what products should be available for consumers.
(D) discusses the irrelevant issue of what actions are morally right, while the stimulus only discusses what ensures a lack of moral duty to perform certain actions.
(E) fails to ensure that no moral duty exists in the discussed situation.
